La visita, che è esclusivamente pedonale poiché questa parte di città è stata da tempo chiusa al traffico, necessita di osservazione dei particolari, degli spazi interni alle case (cortili, porticati, logge, ecc.) e dei piccoli spazi verdi.Torre di Porta Vittoria o Porta Torre è la più antica ed imponente delle torri medievali rimaste. È quella centrale e fu eretta nel 1192 assieme ad altre opere di difesa della città. Ha pianta quadrata, è alta circa 40 metri e, mentre nel lato esterno ha due fornici, nel lato settentrionale ha un fornice unico, formato da un grande arco con sopra quattro ordini sovrapposti di doppi finestroni.
