Geocache Description:

I hope there are no stray golf balls heading your way!

"Warrigal" is a local identity who has always been involved with horses, and has a reputation for being a good 'ringer'.  He is a retired gardener once employed by the local Council, especially on the Oak Street (the main road through town) gardens, and loved to have a chat with tourists who stopped by.  He was an inspiration behind the "Outback Mates" program, which allows local council workers to interact with visitors to our region.

(Information supplied by Kyie, Warrigal's daughter, to RoddyC, who was the inspiration behind this cache. Kylie works at the Barcaldine Tourist Information Centre.  Please call by and say hello to Kylie and tell her why you are here.  She likes to meet fellow geocachers!)

Note to the Millers from Victoria - caching under the name edmil: The cache which had been stored away in the Information Centre all these years since your visit in 2008 had been found and was used as the Warrigal cache. We trust you are happy to see it living at last.
