Mt Cecil - Log this one 🌄 Traditional Cache

The cache

This is one of the Mt Cecil series of caches which are hidden in a plantation on the Western Hills of the Hutt Valley. The cache is located east of the 'South Road' signpost in double screwtop containers.

At the time of publication the plantation has been largely felled and harvested and is a bit of a 'devastation zone'. However the altitude and aspect of these forestry trails make for great views of the Hutt Valley and beyond.

Getting there

Navigating the forestry tracks can be confusing at first but if you are coming from the Mt Cecil - Post Road cache, drop down to the main gravel forestry trail that heads north and follow it to the GZ. You'll pass right by 'In Search of My Roots', which features one of L. Jacks contemporary sculptures.
