Geocache Description:


North Bayshore is the area of Mountain View adjacent to the San Francisco Bay. It features several sloughs that feed into the Bay and a 750-acre wildlife and recreation area, Shoreline at Mountain View. It used to be home to several tech companies, including Google, LinkedIn, and 23andMe. These days, it's pretty much just Google.

As the number of people working in this area increases, companies have invested in pedestrian and cycling infrastructure improvements in an effort to both facilitate transportation between buildings and to encourage more people to bike or walk to work (as anyone who has sat on Highway 101 or Shoreline Avenue during rush hour can attest, anything that gets cars off the street is a good thing).

This cache will have you explore part of this infrastructure: the Green Loop, which runs through Google's campus. The Green Loop is a bike/pedestrian path that connects the Permanente Creek Trail, the bike lanes on Shoreline Avenue, and the Stevens Creek Trail (almost; reaching the SCT still requires a little bit of an off-road hike).

You do not need to touch any plants to find this cache. Do not enter any area that looks like a construction zone.

Update 2017-08-24: This cache has a tendency to wander to increasingly-difficult hiding places. To prevent this, please put the cache back exactly where you found it---X marks the spot!

I have also moved the cache up about two feet, so finders no longer have to search along the ground.
