Geocache Description:

A small find on road to the airport.

Welcome to the Airport (well nearly).

The Whitsunday Coast Airport (formerly known as the Proserpine Airport  IATA Code: PPP) was originally built in 1946.  However, since that time it has gone under significant redevelopment and is today a modern regional airport with excellent facilities for its size.  The airport is the main gateway for visitors travelling to and from the beautiful Whitsunday Region.  The airport is serviced by three commercial airlines Tiger Airways, Jetstar and Virgin Australia with regular flights between Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.  The airport is located a 10 minute drive south of the Proserpine and thirty minutes west of Airlie Beach.

The drive from the Bruce Highway to the airport is often lined with wallabies and kangaroos feeding on the roadside, so make sure you take care when driving here!

This a quick cache to find while driving to or from the airport.  The cache is located outside the airport grounds and away from restricted parking areas that are found inside the airport area itself. There is plenty of room to park safely off the edge of the road while you search for the cache.  A torch is a must at night as there are no street lights in this area.

Please return the cache to where you found it.
