The area behind the fence was originally another of the largest sheep properties in this area until it was subdivided and then it became one of the first deer producing properties in the area.
Deer escaped not only from this property, but from other properties who tried this venture without the help of higher fences. There are still number of feral deer that wander the surrounding areas. They can travel many kilometres every day.
