Cedar Creek Falls is a 'must see' location when visiting Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays. Hidden within the Conway National Park, the falls are a favourite destination for tourists and locals for its natural beauty, particularly after the wet season. It is the perfect location for a swim to cool off from the humidity in Summer.
The falls can be found by turning off Shute Harbour Rd at Mount Julian(between Airlie Beach and Proserpine) onto Conway Road and follow the signs until you get to Cedar Creek Falls. The last section of the road is gravel but is accessible to all types of vehicles. The falls are only a short walk from the carpark. Due to this being such a popular area to visit, the cache is a sneaky little micro sized, camouflage, bison tube. The cache is hidden behind a large rock, out of the view of muggles, but should not be too hard to find. Depending on what time of year you attempt to find this cache will alter the terrain rating slightly. To get to the cache, you will need to cross the creek at the base of the falls(rocky bottom so shoes may be preferable) and if the falls are flowing, you are going to get your feet wet. Note: There is no mobile phone coverage within the Cedar Creek Falls area. The GPS coordinates may not be 100% accurate due to the tree cover but if you're having trouble finding it, the hint will help. Congratulations to the Blain-Fam who were the First To Find.
