This geocache isn't part of the church micro series, and unfortunately I am unable to supply lots of information about it's history. The earliest reference to the church dates back to 1291. It was completely rebuilt in 1628, with many renovations since then, although traces of a Saxon doorway still remain. More importantly, this is a beautiful church in the wonderful Dorset countryside. For me this is a spot of great significance, as this was where we were married in 2007.
The published coordinates will take you to the churchyard gate, a spot from which you can really enjoy a view of this picturesque location. While standing here you should also notice a plaque dedicated to William George Cole, and take the chance to collect the following numbers:
6 Aug 1ABC 14 Jan 1DEF
The final can be located at:
50 55. (B+F) (D-B) (E / C), 002 28. A (E-B) (A-B)
NOTE: this cache is an easy pickup, when approached from the correct direction. The correct place to stop will have you safely parked, and an easy stroll is the only thing between you and the prize.
Happy hunting!
