#14 Bill and Ted's Awesome Adventure Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Long Man: I have made two requests for this cache to be maintained and the listing is still disabled. I feel the owner has had sufficient time to carry out the required maintenance, but has failed to do so.

Because of this I'm archiving the cache.

Geocache Description:

Bill and Ted's Awesome Adventure is approximately 8 miles from the beautiful village of Rolvenden heading to Tenterden and back again. This partly follows the High Weald Landscape Trail.

The village of Rolvenden dates from Saxon times. The name 'Rolvenden' may originate from a chieftain Hropwulf, and would refer to the 'den or pasture of Hropwulf's people'. Den is the jutish word for swine pastures coming to connote the same but with associated hamlets or isolated farmsteads as well as in many instances cultivated land.

Rolvenden was first mentioned in the Domesday book as Rovindene. In the reign of Edward III this was changed to Riolvinden, and then changed again to Rounden in the late 17th century.

Bill and Ted's Awesome Adventure can be linked with Bill and Ted's other series if you wish to extend your walk.

You can also pick up other local caches whilst on your travels.

Original cache here was a "small". Thank you to Faraway for replacing. If anyone should find the "small", please do let us know.
