The cache is located next to a beautiful fishing pond on the Sioux river just off CTH "C" NW of Washburn. The path to the pond is a D2 so bring your fishing equipment, kids, and dogs. You may catch Brook, Rainbow, and Brown Trout there. Birdwatchers also like this location.
This is truly a 5/5 cache. It should not be attempted if you are alone. You can fall and be injured. A strong rope attached above will keep you from slipping down too far. The rocks that make up the rip-rap are for the most part solid but may be slippery. There is NO NEED to overturn or rip out the rocks or tear up the moss. You are looking for a bison tube tucked behind a fairly obvious beacon. Fingers are all that are needed to locate the cache. Do not be disappointed if you fail this one. If nothing else you have discovered a beautiful fishing getaway for you and your family. If you are FTF and wish to do so, photograph the cache container, send me a message, and claim a nice 5/5 reward.
The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to the Land Manager, David Lindsley, of the Wisconsin DNR.
