Geocache Description:

My wife is my frequent geocaching partner. She is a tenacious seeker of hides. Once we get close, she does not give up. I don't believe we have ever recorded a DNF when she is on the case. That being said, she does not necessarily appreciate all of the subtleties of the game.

One day, I showed her our collection of virtual geocaching souvenirs. She could not have been less impressed, asking impertinent questions such as "What good are they?" and "What can you do with them?"

Although I declined to concede the argument to her, I privately had to confess to myself that she made a valid point. Virtual souvenirs by definition are without intrinsic value.

As originally envisioned, this cache was intended to remedy that. It was designed as a challenge cache: collect 15 valueless geocaching souvenirs, turn them into a valuable geocaching find. Pretty cool idea, huh?

Alas, the reviewer informed me that new challenge caches have been banned, at least for the time being. And geocaching.com rules, unlike geocaching.com virtual souvenirs, are very real. So now this is just a simple cache hidden off the west side of the North County Trailway. You can add an incredibly valuable "find" to your tally, but your collection of souvenirs will be just as worthless as it was before. Not the CO's fault. I tried.

You are seeking a small lock 'n' lock, with room for a compact travel bug or two but little more. As you approach the coordinates, you will find yourself confronting a jumble of potential hiding places. Just remember that your feet never have to leave ground level, keep the trail to your back and consider the difficulty rating. (This really is an easy one.)

While you are out looking for this cache, I will be trying to impress my wife with the fact that I am a 2015 Road Trip Hero -- and I have the virtual souvenir to prove it.

Congrats to DeGusmao for being first to find. At the time of the find, he/she had accumulated 10 geocaching souvenirs.
