I recently completed a yearlong streak and wanted to do something special to commemorate it - and what better thing to do than place a geocache?
As a believer in the power of storytelling, I've always been drawn to the epic adventures: the ones with a strong, confident hero (or SHEro) on an incredible journey with lots of momentous, life-altering occurrences along the way. However, as I've gotten older - I'm learning that often my favorite moments happen completely serendipitously on the most average of days.
For me, geocaching has given the opportunity to explore new and familiar cities and find unexpected beauty and adventure in the most unlikely of places. In fact, sometimes the simplest of placements and the lowest D/T ratings have provided the most fun.
So, in gratitude for the hobby and all of the local geocachers and reviewers who make it possible, here's a collective toast to the geocaching community! Happy caching. Also, you are searching for an ammo can, though it may not be what you expect.
Optional: I'd love to hear what keeps you geocaching. What is your favorite part?
