Geocache Description:

This cache will take you into what's left of Coolac, where you should check out two remaining churches, a country pub and a tiny local park. We definitely recommend the low hanging swings.

Founded in 1824, then bypassed with the new motorway in 2009, Coolac is unfortunately far less visited than it used to be. The town's not too far from Gundagai and the iconic Dog on the Tuckerbox, just keep an eye out for the windmill. If you need any supplies, stop by the general store just down the road and support the local businesses.

Part 3 of the Orion Constellation Cache Series.
All based in the Riverina area.

Orion, our team's namesake, is one of the easiest to spot constellations in the summer sky. On a clear night, keep an eye out for Orion's Belt: three small stars in a row and two larger stars, Rigel and Betelgeuse, at their diagonals. The Orion Constellation will help you explore the sky, and we hope that the caches we placed in this series will help you explore some of our favourite locations in the Riverina area.

Betelgeuse is the largest star in Orion, 643 light years from Earth and can be identified by its orange colour. The star is a massive 667 times larger than our Sun, but actually only the second brightest in the constellation (out of 7 major stars), behind Rigel. The word Betelgeuse is Arabic in origin and means 'the giant.'.
