Philips Park was for 150 years the estate of the Philips family of merchants and manufacturers before becoming a public park in 1948. Situated on the boundary of Whitefield and Prestwich close to junction 17 of the M60, the park contains 4 listed structures, a formal garden and large areas of woodland and grassland
The main entrance to the park is on Park Lane, Whitefield.
Bus: A 513 bus from Bury or Bolton via Radcliffe and Whitefield runs down Park Lane.
Bike: Cyclists can approach via Park Lane or the cycle route in the Irwell valley.
Foot: Pedestrians can approach by several routes such as the footpath down Mere Clough from M60 Junction 17.
Horse: Horse riders can gain access where the Irwell passes under the M60.
