Geocache Description:

The cache is a quick png located on the western end of County Road 905 at the northern portion of Dagny Johnson Key Largo Hammock Botanical State Park. CR-905 ends here in order to provide restoration of flow to Dispatch Slough.

Dispatch Slough (flowing water) is just east of GZ and it flows across the removed, and now flooded CR905 roadway. The aerial photo shows how the road is no longer acting as a barrier to the natural southern flow of water in the Slough.



Dagny Johnson Key Largo Hammock Botanical State Park is a Florida State Park, located in the center of Key Largo in the Florida Keys, on County Road 905. The entrance is one-quarter mile north of CR-905 intersection with the Overseas Highway (US 1).

It is one of the largest tracts of West Indian tropical hardwood hammock in the United States. The park is home to 84 protected species of plants and animals, including wild cotton, mahogany mistletoe and the American crocodile.

A waypoint is provided that depicts the official entrance to the Park. There is an entrance fee if you wish to explore the Park.
