In 1963, long before Short Pump, this iconic sign was built in what, at that time, was the western frontier of suburban Richmond.
Some people may think it’s stupid-looking, but according to my sources (i.e. the internet), it has been up so long that it’s been labeled a historic landmark by Henrico County.
