CCTA Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

park2: We went out and picked it up tonight. It is now impossible to get there from the West (thanks to the new 52 St. Bridge) and the route from the East is under construction. And it's been there since 06/09/2002 - 11 years and 2 months, wow! Time flies while you're having fun. But only 98 finds, I guess that means it was (as designed) not that easy of a cache. And there is still 2 items that were in the original placement, a TV5 DIY coin bank and a cable splitter.

I remember making the cache and I remember the tradeshow in Vancouver I was at where I loaded up on swag to make it. Jim Shaw rode a Harley into the display floor (it was new and they were giving it away as a prize of some sort). The tradeshow was for the cable TV industry and was 1/2 programming and 1/2 hardware, so the Playboy Channel booth was just over from the spectrum analyzer vendor (and oddly the Bunnies weren't that interested).

Anyways, thanks to all who tried and/or succeeded !

Geocache Description:

Fairly level except at entry points, nice walk, first cache in this area of the city. Several parking areas along route but will still be 300m+ to the cache, should be mountain bike accessible. Is a 5.5 litre squareish Rubbermaid container. You do NOT have to walk on the wrong side of any fences, it has the usual reasonably safe terrain to get to it.

Here is a cache anyone that likes cable TV will love. It was filled with goodies from the recent Canadian Cable Television Association trade show in Vancouver.

It included some really cool stuff like a TeleToon Whack-A-Spider (don't worry,it useds SPCA approved rubber spiders); Golf Channel practice mini greens with pin (flag); CNN Headline News coffee mugs (quite nice); Playboy channel (all ages) sticky notes; RaptorsTV stress balls; LeafsTV regulation pucks; TV5 (en francois) coin bank kits; TechTV paper holders; TV Guide photo holder clips; Biography Channel magnetic fridge mount picture frames; SportsCentral Baseball & bat key chains; MSNBC chip/lunch bag clips; galaxie (CBC music on cable service) fanny pack; MTV paper clips; CBC 3-color highlighters (little triangle things, cute); WaveCom Electronics paper holder; bpm:tv badge retractor; 'i' channel badge retractor; Amphenol caribiner key chain; cable grounding block; 'Cable in the classroom' Mood rings; MTV stickers; 'i' channel sticky notes; TNN pens; EWTN (Christian channel) pens and coffee mug; Telonix paper holders; some other little black round thing from galaxie - when you find out what it is let me know; TV Land button with picture of the deputy from Andy Griffiths show (Don Knotts but what is the characters name? A: Barney Fife); AstralMedia around the neck straps; Family Channel waterproof holders; Speed Channel pens; Electroline sticky notes;

Originally I had so much stuff for it, finders didn't have to trade anything but all good things come to an end and so has most of the CCTA booty. So this is back to a normal cache where you should trade items.
