The Sugarloaf Path contains Newfoundland's first geocache, and the trail is a favourite on the East Coast Trail network. The trail starts upward right away, and if you wish to stop to catch your breath halfway up the hill, you now have an excuse: a traditional geocache.
Pick your steps carefully though the rocks to avoid twisting an ankle. The cache is a digital camo screw-cap container and contains a small FTF prize along with swag complimentary to the fact that you just left the parking lot of the research labs of the Ocean Sciences Centre of Memorial University. There's a pull back racecar (pull back to start it up); in regards to the research labs there is a lab balance's gram mass, a water molecule, a light bulb (all research needs bright ideas), a dinosaur and a unicorn (since my experience in science research seemed to be all about something that seemed impossible to find). There's a nut in there too... draw your own funny analogy there! :-)
