Mendham's Dam Bushland Reserve Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Saint.Anthony: So disappointed in this situation. Why the 'land owner' did not contact the CO I don't know. Had this one approved seven years ago by the State Gov department when I investigated the origins of the land. Perhaps private ownership has taken hold in more recent times. Good bye to Creswick caches. StA

Geocache Description:

A traditional cache in an out of the way conservation reserve

Mendham's Dam Bushland Reserve is a small pocket of crown land initially administered by Conservation and Natural Resources. The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources took control of the functions of the former Department of Conservation and Environment in 1992. In 1996 the Department was succeeded by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment. Over time there has been several incarnations of the Departmental name including most recently DSE and then DEPI.

Since November 2014 the Department of Environment, Land Water and Planning (DELWP) has become responsible for this area.

The geocache is located nearby to the Mendham's Dam Bushland Reserve signage. A short walk through the natural vegetation is required. Keep an eye out for summer time native fauna. The cache is a one litre screw top cylindrical container with swaps, log and pen supplied.
