Although the size of Mardles has grown beyond belief we are to return to the Mardle's Birthplace at The Mardle Cafe in Lound for the October Mardle Meeting - The 12th Mardle.
The venue holds about 30 people maximum so please bare this in mind.
Well behaved dogs are welcomed on leads but bear in mind the venue could be standing room only.
Pushchairs and wheelchair accessible and high chairs are available (4)
The Mardle will be serving soup and roll and cakes along with hot and cold drinks and this time the venue is for our exclusive use as it is not open to the public on a Sunday.
Mardle FAQ -
Q What Is a Mardle?
A The word Mardle is a Norfolk/Suffolk slang for a chat, a gathering and traditionally was by a pond. It is used as a title for the monthly Geocaching meetings for the area.
International Earth Cache Day is also the 11th October - The nearest EarthCaches are
GC5YHR3_scrobys-shifting-sands
GC4P15H_north-beach-dunes
GC48923_was-here-once
GC4YEHD_pakefield-heritage-earth-cache
THERE WILL ALSO BE A NEW EARTH CACHE WITHIN 10 MILES OF THE VENUE TOO!!
There will be a new series of caches nearby for the launch (about 3 miles away), So this could act as a buffer to those arriving and finding the cafe full.
I have pre-warned pub nearby too (Open 12 - 3.30pm and 6:30 - 9pm) that there may be some additional trade that day and could act as a good overflow location if there is no room at the exact GZ or for attendees looking for a sunday lunch option - for which I would recommend booking.
There will be a charitable raffle for Motor Nurone Disease on the day.
Please could you log your intention to attend below to indicate to the venue the size and number likely to attend.
