Hej lundwall!

För ett tag informerade vi dig om att allt inte verkade stå rätt till med din cache och bad dig då ta reda på hur det stod till, samt åtgärda eventuella problem. Då det inte syns några tecken på att du gjort det, kommer jag nu att arkivera din cache.

Jag ber dig plocka in ev. rester av din cache så att de inte ligger kvar och skräpar ner.

Varva ner


Fridhems Varv ligger vid inloppet till Gullmarsfjorden, Lysekil. Det har varit varvsverksamhet här sedan 1897. År 1907 bildades AB Wästkustens Motorfabrik, som gick i konkurs 1911 och sedermera köptes upp av de större Skandiaverken. 1942 köpte “Kungliga väg-o vattenbyggnadsstyrelsen” varvet för 60 000 kr. Idag arbetar varvet med service, reparationer och ombyggnader av stål- och aluminium-båtar samt även övriga verkstadstjänster.

Varvet ligger i en för många okänd del av Lysekil, och på vägen till varvet finns det en väldigt fin kyrkogård där många kända namn från Lysekils historia ligger begravda. Intill varvet finns det även några nyinstallerade bänkar där man kan sitta och njuta av utsikten över Gullmarn, eller varför inte fiska lite småkrabbor på den nyrenoverade bryggan?

Observera! Det kan förekomma färgstänk de dagar de målar på varvet, så parkera inte intill cachen om ni kommer med bil. Ta förstås med egen penna.

Lysekilsrundan är en ständigt expanderande serie reguljära och premium-geocacher som tar dig till vackra, intressanta eller ovanliga ställen i Lysekils kommun. Många av cacherna har parkering nära, och en del går att nå direkt med bil. Ta gärna med dig egen en penna, då få av cacherna har plats för en. Du får jättegärna dela med dig av din geocaching-upplevelse till andra i onlineloggen nedanför, det är alltid trevligt att läsa. Logga väldigt gärna på svenska eller engelska.

Varva ner - Down the docks


Fridhems Varv is located by the inlet of Gullmarn, Lysekil. There has been shipyard operations here since 1897. 1907 AB Wästkustens Motorfabrik was incorporated, which went bankrupt already 1911 and subsequently was bought up by the larger Skandiaverken. 1942 “Kungliga väg-o vattenbyggnadsstyrelsen” bought the shipyard for 60 000 SEK. Today the shipyard works mainly with service, reparationers and rebuilds of steel- and aluminium crafts.

The shipyard is located in a less known area of Lysekil, and en route there is a very nice and serene cemetary where many well-known names from the history of Lysekil are buried. Next to the shipyard there are some newly installed benches where you can enjoy the beautiful views of Gullmarn, or why not fish some small crabs from the newly renovated pier?

Please observe! There might be occur splashes of paint the days the shipyard is painting something, so if you're there by car, don't park next to the cache. Bring your own pen!
