Oh what a night Geocaching Melbourne has in store for you!
To celebrate a huge weekend of fun and learning all things GEOCACHING, we have decided to put on an event to end all events on the Saturday night….
Who: Everybody
Where: Tooradin foreshore
When: From 7pm - 9:30pm
What: A free BBQ, fireworks and music event.
Why: Because geocaching in Victoria is awesome and because we can…..
That’s right folks you heard it right. Geocaching Melbourne, in partnership with our friends at Anvil Angus, Southern Cross Fireworks and Scouts Victoria are putting on an event that is definitely one that is not to be missed.
With meat supplied by one of Australia’s premier beef suppliers, Anvil Angus, to be expertly cooked by the more than capable people from Scouts Victoria and a fireworks show from the awesome Southern Cross Fireworks, all provided to you at absolutely no cost, you are sure to have a sensational time. Whilst almost everything is free in our efforts to support the local communities of Casey the scouts will be charging for drinks with all proceeds going to the scout troupes, or you can bring your own (non-alcoholic).
So what do you need to do to make sure you can get a free feed at our event? Easy, on the day you will need to navigate yourself to
S 38° 12.783 / E145° 22.813.
There you will find a large cache containing wrist bands. Grab yourself a wrist band, put it on and you will be able to get free food at the event!
Why are we doing the wrist bands? – Well it is a public place and we can’t really stop the locals coming down to enjoy the fireworks display too, but the food is for geocachers only, so grab yourself a wrist band and enjoy a great BBQ.
Please Note: There is NO entry fee to this event. You do not have to get yourself a wrist band to gain entry to this event.
The wrist band is only to be able to get free food from the BBQ.
We have listed multiple parking opportunities as WPs for this event. Also listed as waypoints are some reference points that include nearby toilets, points of safe road-crossings, where the scouts BBQ will be located and of course where the cache of wrist-bands will be located. We’ve even provided a helpful map…

Please also note: Seating will not be able to be provided so if you would like to be comfortable, bring along your own chair or rug for your picnic dinner.
For catering purposes, so that we can approximate the amount of food required, on your "Will Attend" log, if you could include the number of your team that you expect will be attending, it would be appreciated.
A fun time you will have
