SLO: Spidvej  je motociklistični šport, ki vključuje od štiri do šest voznikov, ki tekmujejo v štirih krogih z ovalno obliko v nasprotni smeri urinega kazalca. Spidvejisti so brez zavor, dirke potekajo na ravni stezi s posebno zmesjo peska. Na ravnih odsekih proge za motorna kolesa dosežejo hitrost do 70 km/h. Spidvej je izjemno dinamična zvrst motošporta, v kateri vozniki na 500 kubičnih specialkah brez zavor in brez prestav nastopajo na ovalnih peščenih stezah. Pospeški primerljivi s tistimi iz formule 1 in bočno drsenje skozi zavoje (t.i. dirt-track tehnika) sta še dve značilnosti tega športa, ki je svoje začetke doživel na začetku prejšnjega stoletja na južni polobli, danes pa je razširjen predvsem v Evropi. V Sloveniji so štirje klubi , med njimi tudi Speedway Team Lendava. Letno na tem stadionu prirejajo 2-4 dirke. Največji uspehi ekipe iz Lendave segajo v čas Jugoslavije, ko so dirkači domačega kluba krojili vrh državnega spidveja. Zelo znana je bila tudi vsakoletna dirka za zlato čelado v 80ih letih prejšnjega stoletja, ko je tukaj zmagoval tudi 6-kratni svetovni prvak, Novozelandec Ivan Mauger.

 

ENG: Speedway is a motorcycle sport that involves four to six drivers who compete in four rounds with an oval shape track in a counter-clockwise direction. Engines have no brakes, the race is held at the track with a special mixture of sand. On straight stretches of track motorcycles reach speeds up to 70 km / h. Speedway is an extremely dynamic genre of motorsport in which drivers ride on motors to 500 cubic without brakes and without gear posing. Accelerations are comparable to those of Formula 1 and the lateral shift through turns (so-called dirt-track technique) are two characteristics of this sport, which has its beginnings experienced at the beginning of the last century in the Southern Hemisphere, but today it is widespread, mainly in Europe.

In Slovenia, four clubs, including Speedway Team Lendava. Annually this stadium hosts 2-4 races. The biggest successes of the team from Lendava dates back to the time of Yugoslavia, when the riders from home team tailored the top of the National Speedway. Very famous was the annual Race for the gold helmet in the 80s of the 20th century.  Six times world champion, New Zealander Ivan Mauger was serial winner of this race.
