Over the years I have heard some arguments over the pronounciation of this small town and while the majority of us pronounce it clive like dive, some people are determined it is said cli-ve like speedway.
No matter how you prounounce it, this small town holds some of Hawke's Bays prettiest spots. You can watch the traditional waka on the river, you can watch the rowers training and racing, you can swim, jetski, kayak or just relax on the riverside by one of the playgrounds to keep the kids happy.
