Heartland Cacher: Greetings I'm Heartland Cacher, one of the volunteer reviewers for caches submitted to Geocaching.com.

I can't find any recent responses from the Cache Owner about maintaining this cache which makes it appear the Cache Owner is either unwilling or unable to maintain the cache. Cache maintenance includes listing maintenance including updating any changes to the text, updating coordinates, removing needs maintenance attributes and enabling the listing. The cache will be archived and removed from the active cache listings.

"If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived."

Geocache Description:


The Pvt. Shannon Geocaching Trail of Northeast Nebraska is being increased twofold by Spring, 2016. New caches will be published during the Fall and Winter of 2015. Always travel and park safely on the 180 mile route of the trail while enjoying the hospitality, scenery, and entertainment of our seventeen member communities of Cedar and Knox Counties. (As always, Minimum Maintenance Roads are traveled at your own risk; be careful!). This trail is meant for cachers who enjoy making finds without long searches for “impossible to find” hides; the D/T ratings are in the basic to moderate ranges. Everyone can be involved and successful on this trail.

History: Private George Shannon was the youngest member of the Corps of Discovery Expedition. On August 26, 1804 Shannon and George Drouillard were sent to round up the expedition’s strayed horses near present day St. James, Nebraska. Drouillard returned the following day saying he couldn’t find the horses or Shannon. Shannon was lost! On September 11th, the keelboat crew spotted him on the shore, barely alive, after he had been lost for 16 days. See more of Shannon’s story in the Pvt.
