All Saints church is situated in a prominent position in the village of Crofton. It can be seen for miles around. The present building was built in the 15th century. It is cruciform in shape, with nave, chancel, two transepts and a bell tower accessible by an external staircase. The east and west windows have impressive stained glass pictures. There are stocks situated near the lychgate. It is believed that the stocks date from the 1600s, a time when the rector had some say in disciplining miscreants. It is not known when they were last used! The lychgate was built by volunteers around 1920 after the First World War and rebuilt in 1989 by volunteers. It is in excellent condition and well maintained. The oldest gravestone is from 1690 (on the west side of the church) – see if you can find it. The church is open 10-12 on the first Saturday in the month. Sunday church services are usually: 8.30 am Said Eucharist, 9.30 am Holy Communion (except for second Sunday when there is a family service), 6.00 pm Evening Prayer or Holy Communion. On Wednesdays there is a Said Eucharist at 10.00 am. Everyone is made very welcome at this friendly church.
