Parkwood Springs is an interesting and hilly green space overlooking the City of Sheffield. It contains woodland and heath, open parkland and a range of natural habitats. There are spectacular views over the city centre as well as the suburbs and the distant moors of the Peak District.
I was surprised to see that while the site boasts many interesting features such as a viewing platform, sculptures, two areas of 'ancient woodland' and two Sites of Special Scientific Interest for geologically important stone types, before now it contained absolutely no geocaches!
So, I decided to set this right and place a short series of five geocaches of various sizes. Each of them should be a little harder to find than the average, but then again they're not too fiendish so just keep your eyes peeled.
This is the second in the series (although you can find the first four in any order) and the first micro. It's hidden in plain sight and experienced geocachers probably won't find it too hard to spot, although newer cachers may be in for a few head scratches before all suddenly becomes clear!
The cache is a micro without room for a pen or pencil, so please bring your own to sign the log sheet. Please be careful to avoid muggles seeing you with the cache, and replace exactly as found so as not to give the game away!
On the log sheet is a letter and number which you need to make a note of in order to find the bonus cache in this series. Happy finding!
