SIGN OF THE TIMES! We adults pass by these Black and White street signs each day. A quick look back through time and one can see the popular toys of the decades were childrens signs of the times!
In The 1950’s there were; Mr. Potato Head, Matchbox Cars, Silly Putty, Slinkys, Hula Hoops, Tinker Toys Frisbees, Play-Doh, Barbie and Skateboards.
The 1960’s brought us; Easy Bake Ovens, Monopoly, Etch-a-Sketch, Jacks ,G.I. Joe, Twister, Legos, Hot Wheels, Clue, Operation, and Duncan Yo-Yo’s.
THE 70’s we saw; Barrel of Monkeys, Hacky Sack, Battleship, Hungry Hippos ,Cabbage Patch Kids, Atari, Chatty Cathy, Chinese Checkers and Weeble Wobbles.
In the 80’s came; Rubik’s Cube, Pogo Balls, Transformers, Trivial Pursuit, Rainbow Brite, Care Bears, anything Star Wars, Micro Machines, My Little Pony, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
THE 90’s saw Beanie Babies, Power Rangers, Furbies, Tickle Me Elmo, Buzz Lightyear, Pogs Koosh Balls, Polly Pocket, Teletubbies, Bionicles, and Super Soakers.
The 2000’s brought; Elmo, Transformers-again! Bratz Dolls, Gaming Systems Wii, PS3, XBox, Call of Duty, Dora the Explorer and her laptop.
And now in 2015 the extremely popular and time consuming game that has become a phenomenon being played by our children on Xbox, Lap tops, and Tablets, called MINECRAFT, is their “SIGN OF THE TIMES!”
