Geocache Description:

Come and join us for a fabulous overnight camp at the Casuarina Camping Area in the beautiful Olney State Forest (part of the Watagan Mountains) just west of Morisset on the Central Coast. The event will commence at 4:30pm and officially conclude at 6:30pm, although those staying overnight will obviously be kicking on. Geocachers who don't wish to camp are still very welcome to attend and stay as long as you wish.

To get to the camping area, travel to Cooranbong then turn into Martinsville Rd. Travel approximately 4.5km then turn left into Wattagan Rd. Travel another 11km until you see the sign saying "Casuarina Camping Area 250m --►". Turn here and you will soon arrive at the published coordinates. Look around for our blue portable gazebo and our Geocaching NSW banner.

This is a free camping area with no designated camp sites. You pick your camp site on a "first come, first served" basis. According to their website, the Casuarina Camping Area can also accommodate caravans and trailers. The road in does have a gravel section however it is suitable for 2WD vehicles.

The event is BYO everything. You will need to bring all your own camping equipment and especially all food and drink requirements, including water, for the duration. Also, there are no facilities apart from two drop toilets.

It is always nice to sit around a campfire and chat so it would be very much appreciated if attendees could bring a bag or two of firewood with them to add to the global supply for the evening.

Events are a great way to meet new people and make new friends with a common interest, pick up the latest information on equipment, techniques and software and share stories about the latest caching adventure. You may even pick up a hint or two on those annoying DNFs.

Please post a “Will Attend” log and add this event to your watchlist so that you will receive any announcements that are made. If you have any questions, please contact us at contact@geocachingnsw.asn.au

We are looking forward to some beautiful weather and a large turnout for our event so come along and enjoy a great overnight camp and share in some fantastic geocaching fun and friendship.

Cheers,

Geocaching NSW Committee
