BEAUTY IN DECAY
This is the second geocache in the “Beauty In Decay” series, which highlights abandoned objects that once had purpose and now take on a different life, left to ruin and decay in their current surroundings.

Abandoned street objects are commonplace in areas of redevelopment, and this cone is an example of this. It sits beside the road with absolutely no purpose at all, and it is very difficult to imagine what role it would have once had.
This is not the first cache at this location. The previous cache was archived over a year ago, with the container and log roll deliberately left in place as an experiment, knowing it would be untouched for a whole year before becoming this cache. When a game piece stops being a game piece it becomes litter. However, this container lay dormant for some time, which aptly fits with this series, yet I had plans to turn this cache into something new, therefore the container was never seen as litter in my eyes. Imagine my surprise however, when another geocacher found the cache half a year after it was archived. That wasn’t part of the plan, but it adds to the story of a cache not wanting to be forgotten.
