Geocache Description:

Let's risk life & limb on another night paddle!

What:  Night paddle 8.1 miles down the Econ

When:  Saturday, 10-03-15 from 7:00pm to 1:00am

'Scuze me while I kiss this guy?  Really Jimi?

Don't get me wrong.  I love Jimi Hendrix.  I just never knew he was so tolerant.

I'm guessing he had a lot of that Purple Haze stuff in his life?

My kayak has been getting dusty, so it's time to rinse it off with a night paddle down my second favorite river.

We'll gather at the Launch Site coordinates around 6:30pm, and shuttle vehicles to the Landing Site coordinates.

Then we'll splash our boats and commence our journey.  It's 8.1 miles, and should take us about 5 hours total.

I hope to get to the posted coordinates around 11:00pm.  Maybe some kind soul will have a fire going for us?

Hikers can get there via the Flagler South Trailhead, and a 2 mile hike

Please note the difficulty and terrain.  This is a significantly hazardous paddle in the best conditions.

Making this run at night, with all the submerged obstacles and angsty critters is borderline insane.

Please consider carefully before you post your "Will Attend".  This run is not a good place for beginners.

Things you'll need are a PFD, with a glow stick attached, so we can locate your remains in the event you flip.

A glow stick on the back of your boat would also be a good idea.  I will try to remember to bring extras.

You will also need a white light, capable of being displayed in 360 degrees.

(For you Bronco fans, that means a flashlight)

You will also need a whistle or other sound producing device.  These three items should keep the FWC folks happy.

Other things which you should bring include a drybox for your phone and wallet, lots of water, snackage, long sleeve shirts...

Bug spray, pokey stick, change of clothes, eye protection and a hat, should also be on your list.

When you park at the Landing Site, make sure your car is visible from the road, and do not leave any valuables in it.

I have a camping permit which covers the 3 day weekend, if anyone is so inclined.

See y'all there!
