Geocache Description:

This multi is the second in the Colac Heritage Walk series and, as the name suggests, explores the historic homes and churches of Colac. The walk covers an area from Colac Lake to the Memorial Square with footpaths making for easy walking. Allow approximately an hour to complete the two kilometre walk.

The name Colac comes from the Aboriginal clan Coladjin meaning fresh water. They lived on the north side of Lake Colac.

In 1837 Hugh Murray set up camp on the banks of the Barongarook Creek.

Colac became a Shire in 1864 and was gazetted as a City in 1960.

You will need to bring a pen and may need a geotool to retrieve the cache.

I suggest you park in the area of Waypoint 1.

This multicache can be found by working out the waypoint instructions.

Hopefully you parked your car at Waypoint 1 and are able to return to it!
