Geocache Description:

Upon finishing all the caches in the park, I thought it would be an awesome idea to have a challenge cache for all those who were successful in cleaning out the park. I thought it would encourage folks to come and visit the park some more. Of course there is a little red tape to go through in publishing a cache in the State Park so I dragged my feet a bit in getting around to talking to the park manager. Of course, by the time I got around to business, the guidelines had outlawed challenge caches in the state parks, and since then I hear they are banned all together. So it's a little like the virtual cache that I never got around to getting published!

So now, it is just another cache on a really cool trail. Hidden between the last two caches that we did in finishing the park, this was a nice a hike as we did anywhere on the Pine Mountain Trail. You are looking for a regular size, see through, waterproof, pelican type container. It is hidden in a hollow log on the far side of the creek from the trail. Please make sure the container is well hidden from sight and not where it will wash out and down the hill.

NOTE -- There is a $5.00 parking fee per car to enter the State Park, or you can purchase a yearly pass that will give you unlimited entrance to all GA State Parks. Hours: Park: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Office Hours: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ***THIS CACHE WAS PLACED BY PERMISSION OF THE PARK MANAGER. PLEASE OBEY ALL PARK RULES -- STAY ON MARKED TRAILS UNTIL WITHIN 200' OF CACHE.*** Once you have paid your entrance fee, navigate your way to the parking/trail head coordinates. You can start your expedition at multiple places, but there are coordinates below for the Molly Hugger parking, which is the closest. Your normal precautions for hiking in the woods apply. You'll need bug spray, boots, and water to drink along your journey. Please remember to practice "Leave no Trace." -- Be aware of the snakes, ticks, and mosquitos that frequent this area and plan accordingly.
