Salt Spring Island has a number of these linear parks, connecting public roads, or leading to interesting locations. This one passes between residential properties, and expands in the middle to drop to a rustic bridge crossing a small creek.
Although the trail can be entered from either end, we’d recommend starting from Churchill Road, where there’s less traffic, closer parking, and an easier trail.
The CITO part of the name comes from our caching experience while hiding this cache, removing about a kilogram of bottles (a few broken) from near our initial choice of cache site. On second thoughts (and on a second visit to the final location choice, we gathered a much smaller load—a single 2L iced tea bottle and a restaurant receipt, which became a piece of notepaper, as I hadn’t brought any along.
The cache is now a 60 mL camoed jar, with room for only a logbook, and tiny trade items. BYOpencil. Park Friendly hide beside the trail near a useful park structure. Please be gentle.
