les bois de les forges: Unfortunately, the works taking place have now removed the cache 'host', so time to call it a day for this one, as I doubt it can be placed in the same location again.

Geocache Description:

A little walk around Place St Antoine to find a nano

[EN] As part of the overall plan of the district of Solbosch, the Place St Antoine was established in 1903.

In the first project, dating from 1890, it was going to be oriented EW, following Rue Gerlache. The final route of the neighbourhood rotated 90° to allow the hospital to be built on adjacent land.

In 1912 Rue Alex Marcette (used to be Rue St. Antoine ) was reduced in length to enable more space around the southern end of the church and in 1951, the garden around the church was enlarged.

The Place, bisected by Ave. Victor Jacobs, includes a series of interesting houses with distinct styles. Nos 26-27 (1911) eclectic style of the early twentieth century with an Art Nouveau look in the doorposts. No. 11-12 (1932, arch. Paul HEYDEN) have a facade which tends towards modernism, retains a typical Art Deco style flower decoration. Nos 41-42 (1927, arch. Ernest HERENT) and 55 (1927) evoke the Beaux-Arts style.
