To Log this cache:

The coordinates given for this cache will place you within the Library near a diorama of nearby Black Mountain. Using the information provided by the diorama, please answer::

  1. What are the two contrasting primary rock types that make up the mountain?
  2. Xenolith, found in the granite, was probably originally what type of rock?
  3. Noting the photo of the exterior quartz wall of the Mormon Girl Mine, located on Black Mountain, with the quartz heavily present, what desirable/valuable metals were likely present in the mine?
  4. Examine the rocks physically present on the display and identify 4 types.
  5. After reading about the geologic history of Black Mountain and examining and identifying the rock types, what geologic activity/event was responsible for creating these specimens?

Have fun! :-)

Please message me with your answers and do not post them in your log.  Thank you for visiting!
