A group of cachers have gathered together to place caches along The Hertfordshire Way; a 194 mile circular route along public rights-of-way within the County of Hertfordshire. Rather than caches at every 0.1 mile we have tried to put together interesting hides with cool Bonus Caches.
Leg 3 stretches from Willian to Codicote for 11.8 miles. As you walk the path collect the information you need to find the Bonus Cache at waypoints along the route. We advise that you bring sturdy boots for very muddy terrain and a high visibility vest with you because a couple of short sections require walking along the road.

Cache Details
The cache is placed close to a bench on the footpath for tired hikers to rest and take in the view across to Ayot St. Lawrence. You are going downhill here, towards the River Mimram.
After visiting the cache, if you are collecting waypoint clues for the bonus cache, continue downhill towards the metalled track and to the recently restored bridge. Although there is no water underneath now, it used to cross a lake which was made by the Dacres. It is thought to have dried up in the 1930s.
Bonus Waypoints
The following Bonus Cache waypoints can be found close to this cache and en route to the next cache.
BonusN - N51 51.633 W000 15.937 - Count the number of complete columns on the bridge balustrade. (Don't forget to count both sides). You should have a 3-digit number which is BonusN
To the Next Cache
From the bench, continue along the Hertfordshire Way downhill towards the River Mimram. When you reach the estate road turn right and soon you will see the restored bridge. Cross the bridge and carry on to the B651 road. Turn right, but keep right after a short distance to take a track road instead of the main road. Follow the track until you are walking beside the river.
Congratulations to Rossco90 on the FTF!
