Townland of Drumadd Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This is a series based on the ancient Irish townland system and while the places chosen may seem a little random, they all mean something to me. This cache is placed fairly close to the centre of the townland.
A 35mm film cannister with only a log so BYOP and parking is available at GZ. The area will be busy during normal working hours so beware of muggles and return exactly where found. You shouldn't need a hint.
The Townland of Drumadd is in the Parish of Armagh in the Barony of Armagh in The County Of Armagh!
The name probably comes from the Gaelic name 'Druim fada' which means 'Long ridge'.
It measures 182.32 acres making the 686th largest townland on County Armagh.
It is bordered by Killuney, Mullyloughran, Ballynahone More, Corporation and Mullynure.
Features include the former Drumadd Barracks and Hamiltonsbawn Road Industrial Estate.
Drumadd has been chosen because it is home to my Mum's oldest brother and his wife.
