Buried Rivers of Gold series - Victorian Heritage Site #11


Australasian Extended Mine is a heritage listed location consisting of an intact mullock heap and tailings dump. Remnants of quartz and sand heaps, also foundations. Heritage Inventory Significance: Regional.

You'll find the Australasian Extended Mine nestled amongst mountains such as Spring Hill (669m) and Forest Hill (675m) in southwest Victoria. The Australasian Extended Mine is about 110km west-northwest of Melbourne. The Australasian Extended Mine is about 427m above sea level. The nearest populated place is the town of Creswick which is 5.9km away with a population of around 2,400.

The mine appears on the Australian Governments Geoscience website as a regional heritage site.

This geocache is a white film canister size container with log only. Bring a pen and a cache detector for this one.
