Geocache Description:

Come earn your souvenir

On October 11, you can earn a new souvenir for celebrating the geocaching game board. What’s that, you ask? The whole entire Earth!* All you have to do is go out and find an EarthCache on International EarthCache Day.

On 06-22-2009 two earthcaches would make history and be published on the same day,

these were the first earthcache’s to be published in Springfield, Missouri.

GC1V236 – Sequiota Park Caves

GC1V230 – Giboney Cave

We are going to meet at the Sequiota Park Caves for this event.

  • Meet at the posted coordinates at 2:00PM
  • At 2:05PM we will take a group photo at the caves
  • From 2:05 – 2:30PM we can swap earthcache stories and have an informal Q&A session on earthcache creation.
This is a rain or shine event.

An EarthCache site is a special place that people can visit to learn about a unique geoscience feature or aspect of our Earth. EarthCache sites do not use stored containers; their treasure is the lessons people learn about our planet when they visit the site.

So in keeping with earthcaches not having any container to find and no log book to sign.

This event will have no log to sign.
You will have to answer a simple geoscience question and email me the answer.

That will be the way of "signing" the log for this event.
