Following on with my Family Connection series of caches, this is a cemetery which you do not see often. This would be one of the ealiest cemeteries for Murwillumbah, and as you will see very close to the main street of the town. Quite a number of years ago, whether it was due to the condition of the graves or maybe other reasons, Tweed Shire Council decided to remove the headstones and graves and replace it with a small undercover construction and on the walls details of the people who were buried here.
My great grandparents were buried in this cemetery. My great grandfather is buried here. He came out to Australia from Denmark in 1872 by himself when he was 19 years old. He never had contact with his parents and his brothers and sister when he left Denmark. He met his wife in Bega NSW and after sometime moved up to Potsville on the Tweed Coast.
The cache is a eclipse tin. Its a quick park and grab, but if you have time have a look around.
