This cache is the first in a series of seven hidden within the forest.
The Aldie Burn winds its way through the forest which is run by the Forestry Commission. Once the burn supplied the water to Tain and powered several watermills. There are a number of former cottages and houses in the forest. If you are lucky you might spot a roe deer, squirrel, otter or capercaillie. There are two trails in the woods and numerous other paths. The paths are easy to walk and there is parking facilities. There is also a cycle trail. This is a popular area for dog walkers. There is a picnic table at the car park and various benches along the tracks.
