Lets Camp & Kayak
When: Saturday 23rd January from 10am
Until Sunday 24th January 2pm
Where: Roonka Scout Camp (Near Blanchetown)
Why: Just to get away from it all and have a relaxing weekend away with other cachers
Cost: Camping- unpowered sites
$6.00 per person each day. Eg. Normal weekend (2 days) $12.00pp
Electricity: $10.00 per day if power is used in conjunction with camping.
Caravans: $6.00 per person each day, plus $10.00 per day for power.
Canoe/kayak Hire: $16.00 per canoe per day, (canoes/kayak include paddles and buoyancy vests).
Raft Hire and Pioneering Poles: $6.00 per raft or set of poles per day, including paddles and buoyancy vests. Only materials supplied, design and construct your own raft or other structure.
Boat Launch Fee: $8.00 per boat per day, unless camping at “Roonka”
Casual Visitors: $3.00 per person each day. $8.00 per boat per day for Boat Launch fee.
A bacon and egg breakfast will be provided on the Sunday morning so please log number of people attending.
You are welcome to turn up at any time throughout the weekend, day visits are available if you don’t wish to camp.
Unfortunately both kitchens are booked but we will be bringing a 6 burner BBQ that people can use.
At Roonka there are powered and non powered sites where you can camp with tents, camper trailers and caravans.
There are Kayaks, canoes and weeney waves available to hire at own cost or you can bring your own kayaks etc.
Schedule of the weekend:
Saturday: 11:00am Kayak safety and instruction at the billabong.
12:00pm Lunch, self catered
5:00pm – 7:00pm Dinner, self catered
7:30pm community get together/caching story swap.
Sunday: 8:00am Bacon and egg breakfast
