This is a CACHE IN - TRASH OUT event (CITO event). The geocaching game board, aka the Earth, is pretty awesome. Clean it up by attending this CITO event on April 17th and logging the event as "Attended".

TRASH OUT:

We will be helping build, repair and upgrade the trail system the Missouri Department of Natural Resources has in place and wants to build. You are free to leave at any point, but then again you might miss one of the treasures you could find out there.

There is a trail that leads up a hill to the VERY old cemetery at the top. The problem is the trail is in bad disarray. We are going to help upgrade the current “mud” and “rut” trail by installing some water bars to help control the erosion, and lay down mulch. This is a GIANT task with the trail being about 2/10th of a mile long and mostly up hill. The elevation gain from the trailhead to the cemetery is about 90 feet, hence the high terrain rating. We are not expected to complete this project in one event, but I know we can make a big impact on the project. I will be making another event in September to finish this trail off.

CACHE IN:

There will be some "things" with “things” written on them. Find them and you get the prize listed on them, one prize per person. Everything from cache containers to trackables and geocoins are up for grabs. Also there will be a new geocache published after 1:00PM offsite. And if that was not enough I will give some clues to some of my harder "PIe" puzzles.

RUMORS:

Rumor has it ..... more to come but I am working on trying to get something special for everyone. I will post more when I can.

Special souvenir:

By attending a CITO event anytime during April 16 – 24 you will get a unique souvenir added to your geocaching profile.

You may wonder, "Okay, but what do I do?" ...

  1. Before the event:
Grab as many friends as you can.
    Post a "Will Attend" log.
  2. Meet at the posted coordinates at 12:00 PM.
  3. Help build a trail.
  4. Come back to this event cache listing.
  5. Log online that you "Attended.”
  6. Feel good about what you did.

Bring a camera. Take photos. Upload the photos to the event page.

Cache In Trash Out is an environmental activity intimately tied to geocaching. Whenever you are out looking for geocaches, look around and collect litter along the trails and properly dispose of it. Practice policies of Leave No Trace (LNT.org), the center for outdoor ethics.
