Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a seven part series celebrating the life and times of Andy M. Inkrott.  Andy lost his fight with cancer in August of 2015 at the age of 33.  Andy was a husband, father, son, brother, and friend to many, and will truly be missed by all.

Andy was a naturally gifted person who had many different talents and abilities.  While most of his talents revolved around athletics, Andy also had a lesser-known ability for the arts. In high school, where most of his artwork manifested, he created many hand drawn works of art that still hang in his parent’s house today.  While he did not pursue anything beyond high school with this ability, the fact that he had this artistic side would be of significance later in life.

That day came when, through a friend in his church, he was introduced to a CNC Milling machine designed to work with wood.  Andy was fascinated and intrigued by this machine, and found himself quickly learning how to work it.  In no time, Andy was able to use the machine to create elaborately carved pieces of art into all different types of wood.  He took great pride in this woodworking, and would spend a great number of hours in the wood shop making all different kinds of things, from wooden cutting boards, to game boards, plaques, and picture frames.  Family and friends were routinely treated to customized wooden gifts from Andy, and there was no doubt he had a knack for designing and creating wooden pieces of art.

Andy eventually had thoughts and aspirations of creating a small business specializing in custom woodworking, but unfortunately Andy’s cancer would not allow that dream to play itself out.

While retrieving this cache, if you look carefully through the trees to the south you can see the aluminum building where Andy created his wooden pieces of art.  The cache contains a logbook only, so please bring your own writing utensil.  This cache has been placed with permission of the landowner.
