The park is located within the grounds of the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee campus on Cameron Hill.  To solve this mystery, you will need to visit the park. You will need to stop at the guard shack.  State that you want to "Visit Boyton Park" or "Visit the Civil War Park".   You should be directed to park just past the guard shack on the right.  

This is a Civil War mystery cache.  To solve this one, you will need to spend a few minutes reading the various plaques located within the pocket park.

After you arrive at the posted coordinates and park, spend some time viewing the sites of downtown Chattanooga from the park, including the river and the heights beyond.  The terrain impacts why Chattanooga was founded, and how the battle of Chattanooga was fought.  There are five plaques located here.

You will need to read these plaques to answer the folowing questions.  The plaques are from left to right.  

Plaque 1 Re-opening the Tennessee River

• D   What time (hour) on October 27, 1863 Boats Carrying men of Hazen’s Brigade floated past the confederate pickets.
• C   Subtract 50 from number of boats that carried Hazen’s Brigade
• F   How many regiments of Geary’s Division halted for the night at the junction of Kelly’s Ferry Road.
• A   What time (hour) did Longstreet’s troops withdraw after Jenkin’s brigade attacked Geary’s Division at Midnight?
• J   General Hooker with 11^th Corps and Geary’s Division marched from Bridgeport.   What time (hour) did the head of the column reach Brown’s Ferry?

Plaque 2 Negley’s and Wilder’s Demonstrations Against Chattanooga

• I   What was the second date in June that General Negley was in command of a union reconnoitering force that appeared on Stringer’s Ridge? 
• KL   Find the date that Col. Wilder’s Brigade of mounted infantry occupied the position from which Negley had made his demonstration (AND THEN SUBTRACT 3 from this number to get KL)

Plaque 3 Battle of Chattanooga, 1^st Day

• E   Subtract 23 date that General Thomas disposed forces in front of Fort Wood.
• M   Subtract 2 from the number of Corps that advanced on the left to Citico Creek.  For example, if it was the 8th Corp, the answer would be 6 (8-2).

Plaque 4 Battle of Chattanooga, 2^nd Day

• O   The number of hours between when Clayton’s Brigade relieved Walthall and Pettus and when the Confederates abandoned Lookout Mountain, retiring to Missionary Ridge.
• H   Subtract 400 from the number of yards that Walthall fell back after he withdrew from Craven’s House.

Plaque 5 Battle of Chattanooga, 3^rd Day

• G   In the afternoon, how many divisions of Thomas’ army occupied the Orchard Knob Line?
• B   Within Thomas’s army that occupied the Orchard Knob Line, add the number of brigades in Johnson’s Division with the number of brigades in Baird’s division.
•  N   Subtract 2 from the number of miles that Stewart’s division was tasked with covering between Bragg’s Headquarters and Rossville Gap.

The final location for the container is NOT within Boyton Park, or on the Blue Cross Campus. You are looking for a small magnetic key holder.
