The Woady Yaloak River is a perennial river which rises below Black Hill and flows in a mostly southern direction for 104km before emptying into Lake Coreangamite. Working together, the Dales Landcare group and the Smythesdale Progress Association have opened up this section of the river to make a walking trail. The river is home to various fish including redfin and trout.& eels. Parking is available at the Smythesdale gardens where toilets and camping facilites are located.
