As our geokids attended a nearby primary school, we've spent many many hours enjoying this park. Now they are starting to outgrow it, we wanted to share it with other geocachers, with or without young ones.
Near the cache is a great playground, a small bike track with speed humps and stop signs, and several nice cafes and eateries.
Duncan Bain, for whom the park is named, is credited with laying the "foundation of useful institutions in Wauchope", through his generous donation of land that became the Wauchope Showgrounds, and also through gifts of his time and money. To further mark the local generosity, this park contains a small garden listing some of the volunteer organisations that have contributed to the development of this town. Although, some groups (such as the Wauchope Country Womens Association) may object to how their name was commemorated....If you find the cache, you may see what I mean.
