Geocache Description:

There are so many birds out here, even when the lake seems dry. Bring your cameras and try to photograph as many as you can.

The cache is hidden in a grove of trees so you will need to use your cache sense to find this one. The container has a small systema within to hold the LB, pen and there is room for small swaps. Please replace carefully and replace camo so it can't be seen.

Lake George was first discovered by Joseph Wild on 19 August 1820. The Lake was named for King George III by Governor Macquarie, who was touring the area as part of a Royal Commission to inquire into the condition of the Colony. In the local indigenous language, its name was Werriwa, which means "bad water"; even when full, the lake is one of the saltiest bodies of water in inland NSW, almost as saline as seawater.
