Rev up your holiday spirit by attending Alaska's Eleventh Annual Holiday GeoFest featuring caching fellowship, games, and door prizes. The 2016 GeocacheAlaska!, Inc., Board of Directors will be introduced and the full GeocacheAlaska! store will be available, so you can take care of some of your Christmas shopping needs.
The room seats 120 theater style or 72 with tables so RSVP early (by December 14) so we can provide chairs for everyone and have enough food to go around. The meal will feature a variety of pizzas and green salad. Meal tickets are $5 for per person, Credit cards, PayPal, cash or check will be accepted at the door.
The dress code is "Alaskan casual," with an “UGLY SWEATER CONTEST” so wear your favorite holiday threads and bring your reindeer antlers. You will receive your ugly sweater voting ticket when you check in. The top two ugly sweaters will be awarded prizes.
One of the highlights of the evening will be a dessert contest. This year we will be relying solely on the Peoples Choice Award. Make sure you pick up your voting ticket when you check in. Desserts being entered in the contest must be checked in by 6:15 and judging will begin at 6:30. First, second and third prize will be awarded before all of the creative deserts are enjoyed.
The GeocacheAlaska! Inc store will put together Geo ‘Grab Bags’ that will be for sale for $15.00 each. Contents will be a mixture of items, but value could be much more than $15.00. These will be for sale during the evening. Folks may purchase them if they forgot a ‘gift’ for the Gift Exchange, or if they want to save time and pick up their gift at the event.
There will be games and prizes and coloring sheets for all ages.
A streamlined gift exchange will be held, so bring a wrapped inexpensive (under $15) cache swag item or cache container to increase your fun., keep in mind that the GeocacheAlaska! Inc store will be on site with gift bags ready for the exchange. Of course, junior cachers are welcome since these are games the whole family can play! What better way to kick off the holiday season?
